THE BASS MY PASSION
Hi! I’m Lea Hart, an Argentine bassist and singer based in Berlin since 2021. When I sing, I perform music in Spanish: tangos, boleros, and Argentine folklore. When playing the bass, I explore a variety of genres that I enjoy. My strengths are responsibility, human qualities, and a strong commitment to music.
Currently, my work focuses on live performances, studio and online recordings, and electric bass lessons, generally centered on tango bass technique. I am also working on my first solo material focused on Argentine folklore, in which I sing and play the guitarrón cuyano in my compositions.
My current projects are Sotas de Osaka (Tango and Latin music), Guten Tango (a traditional tango quartet in which I play double bass), and DBF (Indie Pop/Funk). Throughout my career, I have played in a wide range of genres: traditional tango, electronic tango, Latin music (Argentine folklore, candombe, salsa, boleros, bossa nova), funk, reggae, neo soul, jazz, pop, and rock.
I have studied at various music schools and universities in Argentina and Germany, and have also gained extensive knowledge through self-study and private lessons. I have been playing bass guitar and recording professionally for over 20 years. My work as a bassist is mainly in live performance, which has given me strong skills in quick problem-solving, working with people, and managing stage audio.
